Roma are toast

With two away goals from Manchester United in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals, Roma now have to make at least three goals AND keep the English club from scoring in order to secure a place in the semis. Not exactly the easiest thing in the world to do especially with Cristiano Ronaldo on the pitch and a boisterous Man Utd home crowd in the second leg at Old Trafford.

Roma were clearly outplayed and outclassed by the Premier League front runner in this game. They wasted a number of chances and failed to make important connections that would’ve given them a successful shot. The second goal from Rooney should have never happened if Doni was able to collect the ball. That superb header from Ronaldo on the other hand was, well, a force of nature. It was unstoppable. The guy practically bolted from midfield to penalty area in a split second and went straight for the ball. The goalkeeper didn’t have a chance.

Second day of first leg matches tomorrow. Arsenal versus Liverpool. Awesome.
